The short version
PawForecastis designed to need as little of your data as possible. There are no accounts, and we don't sell data. Ever.
Location
When you type a city or zip code, it's sent to our server only to look up coordinates and fetch the local forecast. If you tap "Use my location," your browser shares your coordinates for that single lookup — they're used to fetch weather and are not stored or associated with you. Your breed preference is saved locally in your own browser.
Analytics
If analytics are enabled, we use a privacy-friendly, cookie-less analytics tool that records only aggregate page views — no personal profiles, no cross-site tracking.
Weather & location data
Forecasts come from Open-Meteo. City and postal-code coordinates come from GeoNames (CC BY 4.0).
Affiliate disclosure
Some links to hot-weather walking gear are affiliate links, including the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. If you buy through one of these links, we may receive a small commission at no additional cost to you. We only link to products we believe are genuinely useful for keeping dogs safe in the heat; a purchase is never required to use anything on this site.
How we measure the sign-up page
We count how often the alerts sign-up box is seen, interacted with, and submitted, so we know whether it is useful. These counts are anonymous by construction: no cookie, no IP address, no device fingerprint, nothing that identifies you. A random value is held in your browser tab only, so that scrolling past the box on three pages counts as one person rather than three, and it is discarded the moment you close the tab.
Email alerts & payments
If you subscribe to the daily alerts, we store the details you give us: your email address, the city you chose, your delivery time, your timezone, and your dog's name, size and breed group. We use them for one thing — sending you the alert you asked for. We do not sell, rent, or share this data, and we do not send marketing to subscribers.
Payments are handled entirely by Stripe.Your card details go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers, our logs, or our database — we cannot see them. We store only Stripe's customer and subscription identifiers, your plan, and when it renews, so we know whether your subscription is active. Stripe's own privacy policy governs what they collect at checkout.
Every alert links to a preferences page where you can change or delete your details, and to one-click unsubscribe. To have your record deleted entirely, email rlancasterenterprises@gmail.com and we will remove it. We keep a minimal log of which emails were sent to which subscriber and when, so we can prove delivery and avoid sending duplicates.
